If you have answered yes to any of the above questions then you're allot like me. Over the years while helping people buy everything from cars to copiers I have faced these challenges. To combat this challenge I went into my manager one day with an idea. If people submit a resume for a job then why not submit one to a prospect to qualify for their job - being their salesman. Upon explaining the concept he agreed and we went to work. 

I wanted a document that told my prospects and customers who I was., what I expected to do for them, and Why I had the right to make a product recommendation to them. Most salespeople in my business were gone in 6 months and I had been in sales pretty much all my life. The end result was a Professional Profile. This simple piece of paper opened the door to many opportunities and can do the same for you. In most industries with the exception of Real Estate, Salespeople very rarely sell the benefits of working with them as an individual. If your doing this now then congratulations. If you are not then read on and figure out what value you provide for every dollar that is invested with you.

Educate your customers about the number one product you sell...yourself. Consider these four areas:

Mission                                                                           

The mission statement is a defining statement that tells your customers what you would like their overall experience to be like. 

For example:
My mission is to provide you with a shopping, buying, service and ownership experience that meets your individual needs and exceeds your expectations in a comfortable supportive environment.

Consider your organizations mission statement and blend the two together.

Commitment                                                                   

The Commitment statement is a defining statement that tells your customers what you will do for them now and in the future. 

For example:
My Commitment to you is to be available and actively practice the acquired art of listening. 

Consider any special services you provide your customers that separate you from competitive salespeople.

Vision                                                                               

The Vision statement is a defining statement that tells your customers what you would like to accomplish long term, let's say the over the next 5 years. For example: 

My Vision is to become the only source of ________ for you your family and friends. 

Consider what challenges exist for your customers long term and highlight how you overcome those challenges.

Experience                                                                      

This is the easiest of them all. What experience do you have that provides you the capability of recommending a product to your customer. Never fear if you have limited experience tap your life experience and relate that back to your industry. 

Consider any special training that you receive from your organization and certifications that you may receive.

So if you've ever lost a sale because your customer didn't remember you follow this guide and see what happens. You need to give your prospective customers and customers alike a reason to remember you. After all: It's not your customers job to remember you, It's your job to never let them forget you.
